The Nigerian Senate is set to create employment opportunities for qualified Nigerians with full details about how to qualify yet to be announced.

Nigerian Senate, the upper chamber of the National Assembly has announced recruitment today, 1st of September.

The Senate, @NGRSenate on Thursday said it is looking for two video editors for its television station.

The tweet reads: “We are looking at recruiting 2 video editors for Senate TV station. Know anyone interested? We will start taking applications September 5th”.

FCT Abuja Changes Resumption Dates For Primary, Secondary Schools - See New Date

FCT Minister Muhammad Bello has approved the review of the 2016/2017 Academic Calendar for all primary and secondary schools in the territory, a statement said on Wednesday.

The statement was signed by Anthony Ogunleye, an Assistant Director and Head of information (Education Secretariat).

According to the statement, the review affects all public and private schools in the FCT.

It said that First Term would begin on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 (for boarding schools) and Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, (for day schools) and end on Friday, Dec. 17, 2016.


Similarly, Second Term would start on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2017, and terminate on Friday, March 31, 2017, while Third Term begins on Sunday, April 23, 2017 and ends on Friday, July 21, 2017.

The statement directed all schools to take note of the review and comply accordingly.

FCT schools were hitherto scheduled to resume on Sept. 4, 2016, for boarding schools and Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, for day schools.

According to the statement, the Eid el Kabir celebrations coming up in the second week of September necessitated the review of the First Term resumption date. (NAN)

The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro wishes to inform all candidates offered admission in the 2016/2017 session for full time National Diploma (ND) programmes that they are to pay an acceptance and application form fee of thirty three thousand seven hundred Naira (N33,700.00) only.
MODIFIED ELECTRONIC AND PAPER REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

1. Applicant after checking their admission status using the same card used to check PUTME Examination Results, are to print out an Admission Notification slip if admitted.
2. Applicant visits school portal http://applications.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng/ to generate acceptance fee invoice.
3. Applicant clicks on make payment.
4. A new page pops up showing invoice details. Candidate copies the RRR number (Remitter Retrieval Number) from the page and proceeds to the bank.
5. Applicant returns to the page and enters his RRR number to generate Receipt for the Acceptance fee paid.
   
6. Applicant prints out Admission Letter.
7. Applicant modifies O-level result if he/she has changes to make.
8. Applicant is automatically cleared based on the O-level criteria for the department.
9. Cleared Applicants generate school fee invoice and copies the RRR number on the invoice and proceeds to the bank with this number to make payment of school fee.
10. Applicant inputs his RRR number to generate an e-receipt for the school fee payment made.
11. Applicant prints Financial Clearance.
12. Applicant is assigned Matriculation number and is enabled for Course Registration.
13. Student proceeds to register courses and prints Course Form.
14. Student completes his/her file with the information required, puts Registration documents printed from the Portal in file and submits to School Office.

All candidates at one centre must use pipettes of the same volume. These should be clean and free from grease

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has announced the 100 % results of another round of Accreditation exercise recently carried out at Al-Hikmah University. In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, eleven out of the thirteen programmes put forward for accreditation by the University secured Full Accreditation while two of the programmes secured Interim Accreditation.
Breaking the news at an Emergency Senate meeting of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Taofeek Ibrahim said the news was received with joy and excitement. He said the very impressive result of the accreditation exercise held in June 2016 was the collective efforts and many months of monitoring and maintenance of quality teaching and research by the staff of the University, coupled with the world class facilities and conducive learning environment. He then congratulated the entire Al-Hikmah University Community for the success achieved, and urged them to continue to uphold the University’s vision and mission of Learning For Wisdom and Morality.


According to the NUC letter of accreditation and Congratulations, the programmes are :

3.Statistics Education – Full
4.Chemistry Education – Full

The University of Jos hereby invites candidates to participate in the Pre-Admission Screening exercise for the 2016/2017 Academic Session. Each candidate shall, on registration, be scheduled for the screening as from Monday, 5th September, 2016 to Wednesday, 14th September, 2016 for the online registration of candidates who have chosen the University of Jos as their 1st choice.

A. Eligibity
All candidates who made the University of Jos their 1st choice and scored 180 marks and above in the 2016 UTME JAMB examination.

B. Venue: At the respective Faculties on Bauchi Road and Naraguta Campuses, University of Jos, Jos, Plateau State

Time: The Pre-Admission Screening shall commence at 8.00am daily.

C. General Instructions:
(i) Candidates are expected to be at the screening centre, immediately after completion of payment and online Registration.

(ii) Any candidate who fails to come for the screening exercise will automatically forfeit the chance of being considered for admission.

(iii) Withholding information or provision of wrong information will lead to instant disqualification.


(iv) Parents, Guardians and other unauthorized persons are not allowed within the screening venue during the Pre-Admission screening exercise.

(v) The University of Jos does not condone any form of malpractice (including screening by proxy). 
Offenders shall be handed over to the law enforcement agents for prosecution in addition to being disqualified.

(vi) Candidates are required to upload their current passport photographs.

D. The screening exercise will take place daily as from Monday 5th to Wednesday 14th September, 2016 at the respective Faculties.

Candidates’ results will be screened according to the entry requirements of the respective programmes that they have chosen.

The results of Pre-Admission screening will be available on the University of Jos website: mis.unijos.edu.ng/screening

(i) Each candidate shall pay a non-refundable fee of Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N2, 500.00) only (excluding Bank charges) for the screening.
Payment shall be made through Remita collection platform at any Commercial Bank operating in Nigeria as follows:

a) Bank Branch:
• Visit any Bank Branch operating in Nigeria
• Present your payment to the Teller (over-the-counter) and say you want to pay University of Jos Pre-Admission Screening Fee via the Remita platform.
b) Remita Collection Platform:
• Access the collection platform via www.remita.net

• Click “Pay Federal Government Agency”

• Enter “UniJos Pre-Admission Screening” as payment details

• Select any preferred electronic payment channels (ATM cards, internet Banking, mobile wallet, POS etc.) to complete your payment.

The payer will be issued an electronic receipt following payment which he/she will present at the screening venue.
Candidates are strongly advised against patronizing road side Business Centres for making payment.

(ii) Visit University of Jos Website mis.unijos.edu.ng/screening for registration procedure as follows:

a. Create an Account using your email address and phone number. A verification email is automatically sent to your email

b. Log into your email and click on the confirmation link to enable you continue your registration

c. Complete your registration by providing your Bio-data information, including O’ Level details, payment details (RRR and Date), upload your passport photograph and other information as required

d. Click the ‘submit’ button to save your details on the University Portal

e. Print Pre-Admission Screening slip, which should include date of your screening

(iii) Candidates must bring along the following for the screening exercise:

• Payment Receipt

• Pre-Registration Print out

• Originals and photocopies of their JAMB, WAEC and/or NECO result slips

• All candidates must be decently dressed.
