SHOCKING:ASUP Threatens Another Nationwide Strike Action

$
0
0

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Zone D, has again threatened to embark on a nationwide indefinite strike action if the federal and state governments fail to address its grievances at the expiration of its one month ultimatum on August 21.
The union said the planned strike will be the second since 2014, insisting that the federal and state governments must resolve its 13-point demands which led to a nine-month strike between October 2013 and July 2014.
While addressing journalists yesterday in Owerri after an emergency executive meeting of the zone, the union said the action is intended to remedy the rot afflicting polytechnic/monotechnic sector.
Coordinator of ASUP, Zone D, comprising polytechnics, colleges of technology and monotechnics in the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones, Comrade Nelson Chika Ogonwa of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwuashi-Uku, enumerated the issues in dispute to include non-implementation of the NEEDS Assessment report of 2014, non-payment of salaries in many state owned institutions and shortfall in personnel allocations to polytechnics.

Also listed by Ogonwa was the issue of unpaid allowances in federal polytechnics since January, victimisation of ASUP officials by rectors, non-release of check-off dues, undue interference in union activities, non-release of arrears in many public polytechnics with some dating back to 2012, as well as non-implementation of CONTISS 15 migration salary scale in many polytechnics, delay in the review of the Polytechnic Act in addition to non-release of visitation panel reports of federal polytechnics since 2011.
The coordinator disclosed that while some members of the union are owed salaries ranging from two to 10 months, “some polytechnics have earned an unwholesome reputation of breaching the boundaries of autonomy of the union, even as some officials are being suspended, sacked and hounded by some heads of these institutions.”
Ogonwa called on all well meaning Nigerians to prevail on government at the federal and state levels to comprehensively address these challenges for the betterment of future generations.
He maintained that the zone would not hesitate to mobilise all its members in the 11 states under its control to down tools as soon as government fails to attend to their demands before August 22.

In the first place, my humble greetings my sweet ladies & my Handsome gentlemen, I'm sorry I have not been around to communicate with us for almost a week now. Biko I'm sorry, I have been seriously sick but I thank God because I'm getting back to my feet once more.

Back to my above heading! Yes, You should not be surprised if UNN releases her first 2016/17 Admission list before 29th of August, that's if those in charge of this could be more fast. So if you check it now, I think that's approximately 2 weeks from now. I am saying this now because a close & reliable staff in the admissions Unit relayed this to me as he called to inquire of my health earlier this afternoon. For those of you who are good in doubting, let me equally inform you that he is also one of the members of the Admission List compilation Committee for this year, so you can believe or disbelief this info, it can never change the fact.

image

On the other hand, I shall try to find out the number of people to be admitted per department in this forthcoming merit list. As it stands now, they are done with 6 departments for now. 2 of these 6 departments are of UNEC campus while the other 4 are of Nsukka campus. I would have gone ahead to mention the said departments here but I won't. My reason is because there may be further changes on the names of those shortlisted for this said 6 departments. So, having let us know the latest as regards the ongoing, I will still repeat what I have been telling hundreds of you here on MyPortalNG, which is, "my dear relax, remain prayerful, have faith & watch God surprise u On this forthcoming merit list. Never dare you lose hope of admission just because of what some people are saying of your JAMB score or UNN screening score. The truth remains that If God has marked this year as your year of Admission, you MUST surely gain admission into UNN, if not through this forthcoming merit list, then through any of the Admission lists or even through CONNECTION, or even by GOD's grace. If not that your dream course, then u get a related course (which U can change after year 1). Whether low JAMB/screening score or High one. So you see dear, there are many ways God can surprise u this time. So start getting your luggage ready. NO TIME TO WAIT! It Shall Soon End In Praise!‬

ON UNN 2016/17 DEPARTMENTAL CUT OFF MARKS.

My dear, the truth is that few departments have set their merit/state cut off marks but its not OFFICIAL yet.
That was Why Myportalng had To Come up With UNN 2016/17 Merit Admission Likely Cuttoff Mark points For All Courses.
Only the HODs & other principal members of such departments only know the Official Cutoff Marks for now, & still reserves the right to make it official or not. For now, stop believing those rubbish all in the name of UNN cut off marks that are being pasted everywhere on Facebook & whatsapp. They are fake & misleading. Some of them are even last year's UNN merit cut off. As for this year own, we shall try our best to inform you of them once it becomes official.

Finally, UNN portal for UPLOADING of WAEC result is still open. NECO result will be out soon. Okay, that's much I have for us for now. Just relax, youu will not miss any info about UNN and Other Schools if you Always Visit Fullgists.com ! untill your legs touches UNN/UNEC or Your School campus in few soonest. Remain super for me.  In this article, I shall briefly reply to all questions UNN DE candidates have been asking me. FOR THOSE UTME CANDIDATES ASKING ME ABOUT UNN DEPARTMENTAL CUT OFF MARKS FOR THIS YEAR

Some other departments are still meeting daily to decide theirs. Personally, Myportalng have the state by state cut off marks of 7 departments right now, but we cannot tell anyone about that Now. This is because some departments may still change theirs at any moment and that could make Us seem like a liar.  So I will advice you all relax your minds and keep watching events as they unfold here On Myportalng . What Next After UNN Primary/Merit Admission List For 2016/17 Is Released

AFTER UNN PRIMARY/MERIT ADMISSION LIST, WHAT NEXT?
Lol Funny Right?

Blessed moment my blessed Nigerians. As I have always promised us, I shall keep trying my very possible best each year here On MyportalNG helping every Admission seeker, especially UNN aspirants, in every possible way I can till he/she lands in campus. No doubt, by His grace & your co-operation, this I have been doing in terms of information, advice, guidelines, words of encouragement so that you don't give up, etc. Believe Me.. this time around, God will help many of you here who may not gain admission through the merit list to get it through any of the supplementary admission lists. Though Unfortunately, some people are really ungrateful in nature. Some of you are members of some other UNN facebook/whatsapp groups where some people have been saying all manner of rubbish about MyportalNG , but I have a great news for such persons, Please help me tell any of such people if you come across their malicious posts or comments, that We, MyportalNG said that they are making Us more popular. Yes! So let them go ahead and say more about us. A clear conscience fears no accusation. So the fact remains that instead of our Good deeds towards mankind to kill us, it will surely kill the person we did or we are doing such good for.

image

BACK TO MY ARTICLE

Now, As you all here are aware, UNN 2016/17 Admissions will begin soonest with UNN primary/Merit admission list that would be officially released in few weeks time. So like I have been telling us, This is time to get back to God in prayer. Not just prayers, but prayers backed up with Faith. The truth about Admissions in this country these days remains that many aspirants will be admitted on merit, many through supplementary lists, many through "REAL" connection, & many through Grace of God. If you exclude the names of people that would be admitted on this forthcoming UNN merit list, The bitter truth is that the other persons to be admitted would be on what is called ",supplementary admission lists"..So, after the merit list, supp. list follows next. Now, in Every admission year, UNN itself normally release at least, up to (4) admission lists apart from merit list. Last year precisely, UNN released the following lists.

1. Primary/Merit list

2. 1st supp list

3. 2nd Supp list

4. 3rd Supp list and finally, what they called

5. ADDENDUM list.

The truth is this. The more the admission lists, the less the number of people to be admitted. Also, in UNN, 70% of those that are admitted usually come in through supplementary lists while the other 30% were admitted on merit. The reason for this is crystal & undebatable. That is, many of those that will miss merit list can use ways like REAL connections, Help from staffs, shopping form, grace of God etc, to enter school because none of this happens is 100% workable in merit list. Its purely merit.

WHAT IS MyportalNG SAYING?

As you await your admission, just keep reminding God to pick up your call this time. Let Him see you through into UNN whether through merit list or supplementary lists. I know that before this year's admission ends, you will personally share your testimony with me. Don't ever ever give up because. It Shall All End In Praises If you believe And Say Amen!

Following a false and malicious publication in Guardian Newspaper dated Monday, August 15, 2016 where Goong alleged that Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) was stopped from carrying out a post-JAMB examination over the weekend in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory. The Management of Afe Babalola University, Ado - Ekiti (ABUAD) has described the allegation as spurious, baseless, unfounded, malicious and total fallacy.
However, the Counsel to the University, Lekan Olatawura & Co, Legal Practitioner has written Guardian Newspaper to retract the false and malicious publication within 72 hours of the receipt of the letter or faced serious litigation. The following were copied in the letter by the University's Counsel viz:

  • The Honorable Minister of Education - Mallam Adamu Adamu
  • The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education - Dr Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan
  • The Registrar JAMB - Prof. Ishaq Oloyede

  • The Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education - Mr Ben Goong
  • The Chairman, Committee of Vice Chancellor - Prof. A. G. Daramola (Futa, Akure)
It is apposite to say that the University enjoys national and international reputation which it has built over the years to protect and our client will not allow anyone, under whatever guise to tarnish that name and reputation, both of which are so dear to the University and millions of his admirers nationally and internationally.
Because The Guardian is a friendly and supportive Newspaper, the University is therefore asking for a retraction of this obviously offensive, misleading and malicious publication within 72 hours of receiving this letter.
