Latest Updates on Immigration recruitment Screening (SHARE THIS)

The Federal Government has said it would from August 29 commence the re-screening of 2,000 recruits of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS who were “dispersed” after being trained and issued employment letters in February last year.
Announcing this in a statement issued Monday in Abuja, spokesman of the NIS, Ekpedeme King said the decision was reached in the aftermath of an emergency meeting of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) on the 11th of August 2016.
The service however listed several guidelines for the screening of the applicants.
Apart from the necessary security clearance, they would also undergo a drug-test, certificate verification as well as the implementation of CDFIPB policy on “Age on Rank”.
Part of the statement reads;
“The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) wishes to inform the 2000 applicants for employment into the Service who were irregularly issued letters of employment in February, 2015 that the Federal Government has approved the review of the case.
“Following an emergency meeting of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) on the 11th of August 2016, the following guidelines were issued for the screening of the applicants:

“Consequent on the above, applicants whose names are listed in the NIS website: www.immigration.gov.ng are requested to report to the NIS Headquarters Abuja with their academic certificates, birth certificate, previous employment records (if any), indigene certificates (originals and photocopies), two passport photographs, and in batches according to the time-table”.
By the schedule, Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II, ASI2 (CONPASS 08) from all the states between Abia and Jigawa in alphabetical order would take their turn on August 29 while those that fall between Kaduna and Zamfara states would have theirs on August 30.
For Assistant Inspectors of Immigration, AII (CONPASS 06) those from Abia to Jigawa state would sit for the screening on August 31 while those from Kaduna to Zamfara would have theirs on September 1.
For Immigration Assistants IA1 – IA3 (CONPASS 3,4,5), those from Abia to Edo states would be screened on September 2, Ekiti to Kwara, September 3 and Lagos to Zamfara, September 4.
“The general public should please note that the exercise is not a call for fresh recruitment. Therefore, no application for recruitment should be forwarded to the NIS”, the service warned.
After the botched 2014 recruitment into the service the then president, Goodluck Jonathan, instituted a committee to assist the CDFIPB conduct a fresh recruitment. The exercise has since been bugged with controversies following the dispersal of the 2,000 fresh recruits at the advent of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Tips: See The Necessary Requirements For A Successful UTME/DE Admission Screening!!!

$
0
0

Many candidates have been asking questions on the kind of preparations they need ahead of their institutions' admission screening exercise.
Like you already know, the screening as stipulated by JAMB will involve the verification of your documents and physical examination of the candidates.
As we have always done, we would like to use this medium to bring you up to speed concerning what is expected of you in preparation towards the screening exercise of your institution.
For the sake of clarity and emphasis, I would like to present them as bullet points.

1. Get Your O-level Results Ready:

Candidates are expected to present copies of their O-level Certificates or Statement of Results obtained in not more than two sittings.
Another thing you should know is that if it is up to four years you sat for your O-level examination, your institution will likely require you to present the Original Certificate of the O-level examination instead of statement of results because it is expected that your Original Certificate should be ready after four years.
Therefore, if you sat for your O-level examination four years ago and beyond, it is advisable to go get your O-level Certificate(s) ready before the screening exercise of your institution. For those, whose O-level certificates are not yet available, they can present their statement of result. For such candidates, they may need to provide result checking scratch card (NECO, WAEC, NABTEB, as applicable).
For candidates still waiting for the release of their results, you can go for the screening with your O-level registration slip.
Concerning the combination of results, candidates can combine results even if it is from different examination bodies e.g WAEC and NECO. However, your institution may not allow you to combine NABTEB results with WAEC or NECO results.

2. Determine If You Have The Right Subjects For Your Course Of Study:

To study your course of study in any institution, you are required to have a minimum of 5 credit passes in the relevant O-level subjects. Many candidates are not sure if their O-level subjects tally with the course they intend to study. Each course of study has specific subjects a candidates must credit before he/she qualifies for admission in that particular course. To determine if you possess the relevant subjects for your course of study, follow the steps below;
If you are currently using an android phone or device, http://www.jamb.org.ng/unifiedtme2/Brochure.aspx
i. On the page that opens, click on “install” (you can continue reading the instructions below while the installation is in progress. This may take a few seconds)
ii. After the installation, open the app and click on the “JAMB Brochure” button
iii. Click on your Faculty (It is expected that you should know the Faculty your course falls under), this will open a list of courses available in that faculty. If your course is not on the list, go back and click on a related faculty to check for your course of study.
iv. Click on your course of choice and wait for the page to load. Once it loads, scroll down to the section that indicates “O-level Requirements” and read through to determine the subject you must obtain credit passes to qualify for admission in your course of study.
For non-android phones/Computer Systems, Access the online JAMB brochure and follow steps iii – iv as described above.

3. Other Documents You Need To Present:

In addition to your O-level results, you are to present other documents which may include;
i. Birth Certificate or Affidavit of Age Declaration
ii. JAMB Original Result Slip. If you do not have this document, click here to get yours
iii. Screening Registration Slip (for those that registered online)
iv. Local Government of Origin (this can be obtained at your LGA Secretariat)

4. Physical Examination:

JAMB disclosed that candidates will equally be examined based on appearance to know if they are cultists or "future cultists". That sounds funny. I wonder how you can tell who is a cultist or who would likely be one just by looking at the person's face unless you are a fortune teller or a prophet.
Be that as it may, candidates should ensure they dress formal to the screening exercise. Do not put on any thing that will may make you look irresponsible. If you have tattoos or piercings on your body, make sure they are removed or well covered before appearing for the screening.

UNN Aspirants: Read Important Things You Need To Know During Supplementary Admission

$
0
0

Soon the merit list which is also called primary list will hit the net. Its very certain that many will not make it in that merit list but that doesnt mean its all over, that doesnt mean all hope is gone, that doesnt mean you have lost the admission if you dont find your name in that merit list. Primary list or merit list contains names of those who scored upto the departmental cutoff marks and it contains 30% of the total names to be admitted in UNN for 2016/2017, the rest of the 70% comes through supplementary lists. Those who are cut off but scored upto 180 or 200 in the screenng, not Jamb or average (depending on what the minimum shopping/supplementary cutoff will be) will try their lucks via supplementary in courses lower than the course they originally chose.
Supplementary is same as shopping. During supplementary or shopping, there are few things you need to know or understand.
- There is no other screening to be taken for the supplementary.
- There are about 3 to 4 lists that will come out after 1st merit list and they are called:
* 1st supplementary or 2nd primary list.
* 2nd supplementary or 3rd primary list.
* 3rd supplementary or 4th primary list, etc.
- Applying or purchasing supplementary or shopping form doesn't mean you will get admission. In other words, not everybody who purchases supplementary or shopping form will get admission but that doesnt mean you should not purchase it, you may be among the lucky ones.

- If you do not purchase supplementary or shopping form, you will likely not get admission under supplementary lists.
- Supplementary admission is more competitive than merit admission. This is because its under supplementary admissions that all the sorting, all the lucks, all the connections and also those who scored high in screening but were cutoff from their original courses because they didnt reach the cutoff marks all tend to compete with people with low scores in same advertised courses, so you need to be prayerful, up and doing, shine your eyes and leave no stone unturned.
- During supplementary/shopping, there are courses that will not be advertised, in other words, people will not be allowed to shop into such courses such as medicine, law, pharmacy, etc but when supplementary admission list comes out, names will come out under these courses and the question is always...why and how did they put people in such courses. This is one of the things that are beyond your understandings and you dont need to know how.
- During supplementary or shopping, do not shop into same course you were cutoff because you wont get it unless you are working your admission. Look for a lower course from the advertised courses you believe your score is above their cutoff marks and fill. We will help and guide you through when the time comes especially those who will get the form from us so that you dont shop into a wrong course.
- During supplementary or shopping, do not shop into a course which does not have same utme subject combinations with the 4 major subjects that are shown in your screening acknowledgement slip. Example, you dont shop into biological sciences when your original course is an Engineering course because they dont have same utme or 4 major screening subject combinations.
- During supplementary or shopping, do not shop twice, shop only once and ask questions before you fill your form.
- During supplementary, you dont need to come to nsukka for it or to do it, you can call us and we will help you in getting it and fill the correct course for you; its still through remita, same procedure you followed while getting RRR code during your screening registration that will be used for it..so there is possibility you may get it where you are but if you dont get it where you are, dont waste time to call us so that you will be among the first that will fill their supplementary or shopping form and stand a good chance of getting admission.
- During supplementary or shopping, do NOT neglect or overlook it or take it for granted, it may be an opportunity for you to make it into UNN this year.
- During supplementary or shopping, pay more attention on the instruction UNN will give. UNN usually says those who scored 180 or 200 and above in the screening (depending what this year will be), NOT average or Jamb. If UNN says 180 or 200 and above in screening, even if your Jamb is 230 or the average of your Jamb score and screening is 230 but your screening score is not upto 180 or 200 and above, do NOT purchase the supplementary or shopping form because you are just wasting or throwing your money in UNN pocket for nothing. Also be mindful of your 4 major screening subject combinations while choosing a course to fill. I will post all the courses with their correct subject combinations when the time comes.
Ask questions before you fill to avoid mistake and wasting your money for nothing.
- During supplementary or shopping, dont get discouraged because of the number of shortfalls attatched to each course. Number of shortfalls means number of candidates still needed in that course. The truth is..when list comes out, number of people that will be admitted are always more than that shortfalls attached to that course when it is advertised.
Beware Of Scammers!!!

We have given you enough time, implement pending pacts – ASUU tells Buhari

$

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has warned the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari that its members are running out of patience with its policies on education.

ASUU President Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, who stated this in Lagos yesterday, listed the body’s grievances.
BUHARI FACE
They include lacklustre implementation of the 2009 ASUU/Federal Government Agreements, non-remittance of Earned Academic Allowances and non-remittance of N605bn outstanding Needs Assessment Intervention.

Other are: non-functioning of Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company (NUPEMCO), short falls in personnel emoluments, University of Ilorin non-functioning ASUU chapter, funding of State Universities, non-release of white paper on special visitation to eight universities, and state of the nation.
Ogunyemi said: “What we have in ASUU is a bottom-up approach. We will not tell you anything that has not been agreed on by our members. We have had wide consultations and we are now telling the world what our members are saying: that they are running out of patience with this government.
“At this stage, we are only aggregating and telling the world what they are talking about. And let it not look like ASUU often takes delight in embarking on strike action.
“We want the world to hear us and appeal to government to honour agreement reached with ASUU,” Ogunyemi said.
“We are not passing votes of no confidence but if any government is not getting it right policy wise, education wise, governance wise, it is our responsibility to voice it out,” he added.
